2.5 Anonymous Messages

When someone sends you an anonymous message through our web form:

  • We do NOT collect the sender's identity
  • We generate a session-based identifier (stored only in the sender's browser session)
  • We store the message content and associate it with your account
  • The sender's session ID is not linked to any personal information

2.6 Beta Tester Information

If you apply to be a beta tester through our website, we collect:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Preferred platform (Android/iOS)
  • Testing experience level (optional)
  • Feedback and motivation for wanting to be a tester (optional)

This information is used solely to manage our beta testing program, send invitations, and communicate with beta testers. We do not share this information with third parties.

4.1 Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Firebase services:

  • Cloud Firestore: User profiles, messages, posts, and other content
  • Firebase Authentication: Account credentials and authentication tokens
  • Firebase Storage: Images and media files you upload
  • Local Storage: Some data may be cached locally on your device for performance

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

  • Firebase App Check for API abuse prevention
  • Comprehensive Firestore security rules

4.3 Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. We automatically delete old messages when you have more than 20 messages (keeping the last 20, deleting the oldest 5). You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings.

5. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With your consent: When you explicitly authorize us to share information
  • Public content: Posts and comments you create are visible to other authenticated users
  • Service providers: We use Firebase (Google) services, which process data on our behalf
  • Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights and safety
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

Note: Your profile information (display name, avatar, user tag) is visible to other authenticated users as part of the social features of the app. However, your email address and other sensitive information remain private.

  • Update: Modify your profile information, avatar, and settings at any time
  • Delete: Delete your account and all associated data through app settings
  • Control notifications: Manage notification preferences in settings

  • Opt-out: Stop using the app and delete your account if you no longer wish to use our services

7. Anonymous Messaging

Our anonymous messaging feature is designed to protect sender privacy:

  • Senders do not need to create an account or provide any personal information
  • We generate a temporary session identifier stored only in the sender's browser
  • This session ID is not linked to any personal information or accounts
  • We do not track or store the sender's IP address or device information
  • Messages are associated only with the recipient's account

Important: While we take measures to protect sender anonymity, recipients can report inappropriate messages. In cases of abuse, we may investigate and take action, which could potentially reveal sender information if required by law.

8. Children's Privacy

Blurr is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to delete such information.

9. Third-Party Services

Our app uses the following third-party services:

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, storage, hosting, and push notifications
  • Google Sign-In: For account authentication
